Programs

Therapy services at Northwood Children’s Services include individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy for students. Services are delivered by licensed mental health professionals, including clinical social workers, clinical counselors, and marriage and family therapists. All therapists are certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and use a strengths-based treatment model. Therapy is individualized to each student’s needs and may include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness practices, psychoeducation, and developmentally appropriate art and play techniques.

All therapeutic services are guided by a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. Treatment goals and objectives are developed collaboratively with parents and caregivers and outline specific interventions designed to support the student’s progress. Families are considered a critical part of the treatment process and are actively involved at every stage of care. Therapy sessions are flexible and scheduled in coordination with the individual therapist to meet the needs of both the student and family.

Therapists at Northwood participate in regular case consultations and multidisciplinary clinical reviews, with access to clinical psychologists, psychiatry, and nursing services as needed. All clinicians remain current on professional training and continuing education while receiving ongoing clinical oversight and supervision through Northwood Children’s Services.
